Video Journalist Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Research and Development:
   • Research stories through interviews, social media, and other methods.
   • Develop story ideas relevant to the audience and current events.
2. Shooting & Production:
   • Operate video cameras, drones, and other equipment to capture high-quality footage.
   • Plan and conduct interviews with subjects.
   • Set up and breakdown of equipment, lighting, and audio for shoots.
3. Storytelling & Editing:
   • Use video editing software to edit footage and create a coherent and engaging story.
   • Incorporate graphics, sound, and other elements to enhance the story.
   • Ensure content is factually accurate and unbiased.
4. Publication & Distribution:
   • Upload and publish videos to websites, social media, and other platforms.
   • Collaborate with other departments, such as digital teams or broadcast teams, for the distribution of content.
5. Technical Skills:
   • Stay updated on the latest video editing software and technology.
   • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
6. Communication:
   • Collaborate with editors, producers, and other journalists.
   • Receive feedback and make necessary changes to the content.
   • Convey story ideas and updates to the editorial team.
