Role Overview:

As a Video Journalist at Barely Opinionated, you'll bring stories to life through captivating visuals and engaging narratives. From researching trending topics to capturing high-quality footage and editing it into compelling videos, you'll be involved in every step of the storytelling process. Your role is to create thought-provoking, accurate, and visually striking content that sparks conversations and keeps our audience coming back for more.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research and Development:
   • Explore current trends and stories through interviews, social media, and online research.
   • Pitch and develop story ideas relevant to our audience and aligned with Barely Opinionated’s voice.
2. Shooting & Production:
   • Operate cameras and equipment to capture high-quality visuals.
   • Plan and conduct interviews, ensuring engaging and authentic conversations.
   • Manage the setup and breakdown of equipment, lighting, and audio for shoots.
3. Storytelling & Editing:
   • Edit footage using video editing software to craft impactful narratives.
   • Enhance content with graphics, sound, and other visual elements.
   • Ensure all content is factually accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand values.
4. Publication & Distribution:
   • Publish videos across Barely Opinionated’s platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, and more.
   • Collaborate with the social media team to optimize distribution strategies.
